Noxious Gasses We Monitor

Methane

Carbon Monoxide

Carbon Monoxide

A colorless, odorless and tasteless gas, Methane is relatively non-toxic.  Generally, its health affects are associated with being a simple asphyxiant displacing oxygen in the lungs.  However, it is an extremely flammable gas and can explode at concentrations as low as 5%.

A result of fuel that wasn't burned fully, CO gas can come from gas fires, boilers, central heating systems, and water heaters.  Symptoms of CO poisoning are often described as "flu-like" and include headaches, dizziness, vomiting and chest pains.

Carbon Dioxide

Carbon Monoxide

Carbon Dioxide

While commonly produced by the air we exhale, CO2 levels concentrate in areas with less ventilation.  High levels of this noxious gas can lead to drowsiness, dimmed sight, reduced hearing, shortness of breath and an increased heart rate.
